Social Services

We provide counseling for residents and families to assist in their adjustment to nursing home life. We also provide assistance with setting up services for resident’s who are transitioning back out to the community.

Registered Dietitian Services

Nutrition counseling and meal planning is provided by professional staff to meet our residents dietary needs without forgetting to tickle their taste buds.

Respite Care

Our facility offers temporary 24-hour care, giving both the caregiver and the loved one a break from the daily routine. For a few days to a few weeks, you can know that your loved one is cared for in a safe, comfortable environment surrounded by people who offer personal care and companionship.

Post Surgical Care

To hasten recovery we offer short-term care for patients recovering from surgery when they are no longer in need of hospital care but are unable to care for themselves.

Wound Care and Management

Cherry Point Bay has an extensive wound care program. A wound treatment nurse is on staff 7 days per week. Our staff is fully trained in the steps necessary to ensure that wounds heal properly and we work with outside wound clinics when necessary to ensure residents heal to the best of their ability. We use the latest in supplies and technology for each wound. We can also provide wound vacs, pulse lavage therapy, and debridement services when necessary.

Restorative Nursing Care

While in our hands, our commitment is to do the utmost to preserve and promote the resident’s optimum level of functioning and independence. Residents who have met their goals with therapy services are discharged with a restorative nursing plan so that they continue to receive exercises, range of motion, and interactive dining. Our extensive restorative program also utilizes braces or splints to prevent or minimize contractures or skin breakdown. Each restorative nursing plan is developed to that resident’s individual needs and carried out by specially trained staff.

Respiratory Care

Our facility provides a full range of therapeutic care and management for chronic respiratory issues. We also have staff who are fully trained in tracheostomy care for residents who require them.

Pain Management

Our staff keep current with a variety of proven techniques and treatments to ease the suffering and improve the quality of life for those living with pain. In addition to medications, the therapy department uses diathermy and ultrasound technology to assist residents with pain management.

Cardiac Rehabilitation

Recovery from a heart attack or heart surgery is more successful when the patient is able to follow a medically supervised program. This treatment requires a long-term commitment from the patient and their team of health care providers. Our facility is committed to the excellence in cardiac rehabilitation outcomes.

Diabetic Management and Care

Disease management requires alleviating the symptoms and maintaining the resident’s quality of life while identifying and addressing the underlying causes of diabetes.

Stroke Care and Rehabilitation

Our therapists are committed to assisting stroke patients relearn skills that have been lost when part of the brain has been damaged. These skills include motor, cognitive and speech functions.

Hospice Services

The goal of end of life care is to help people who are dying have peace, comfort, and dignity. Staff at Cherry Point Bay along with contracted hospice providers are specially trained to give medical, psychological, and spiritual support to you and your loved one.

Registered Pharmacist Medication Assessment and Monitoring

Registered pharmacists routinely review resident’s medications, clinical conditions, and diagnoses to ensure that the resident’s medications are appropriate.
